This week we continue our message series entitled Building Momentum. From the Old Testament story about Nehemiah, we're learning how to be momentum-builders - MBs for short. Last week we learned that inertia-builders - IBs for short - dream about things being different but MBs envision God using them to make a difference. The thing about God-given vision is that it's almost always too big for one person. How do you get buy-in from others? This week we learn how to cast vision for our family, friends, church, etc.
The other cool thing going on Sunday is the final Vision Night for the building project. We've done about half a dozen Vision Night events mostly in homes with groups of about 20-30 adults. These 90-minute events have been a lot of fun as we talk about the purpose, timing, and benefits of the project with lots of time for Q&A. If you haven't been able to attend to this point, there is one last Vision Night at the church Sunday, April 25, at 6 p.m. Childcare is provided. You can sign up Sunday morning at the Events Center!

Easter Sunday at Calvary was the bomb! More than 1,300 people attended (an onsite record). Fresh off their appearance on Fox7 News in Morning, our worship team opened services with an energetic three-song set. That was followed by a deeply moving set from guest artist Danny Oertli. I love doing ministry with Danny. He's a great guy. If you haven't checked out his website, follow this link to www.dannyoertli.com. I spoke after Danny and God touched hearts as 88 people responded to the invitations to receive or recommit their lives to Christ!
That was great but there will be no post-Easter letdown here! That's because two weeks ago we began a new message series entitled Building Momentum. From the Old Testament story about Nehemiah, we're learning how to be momentum-builders - MBs for short - in every area of our lives: as individuals, as families, and as a church. This week we will learn how to go from praying about what is to planning for what could be. It's also Information Sunday and we'll be providing answers to some of the questions you've been asking about our building project.

What a weekend!
Friday morning between 7 and 8 a.m. catch the Calvary Austin worship team (www.calvaryaustinmusic.org) on Fox 7 News in the Morning(www.fox7news.com). They will be performing songs from their new CD I Will as well as promoting our weekend services.
Friday night at 7 p.m., Calvary Austin presents the live multi-media performance No Appeal. No Appeal combines drama, live music, and video to reach the hearts of audience members. I'll follow that with a brief message tying it all together. As always our coffee bar, Coffee Creator, will be open before and after the performance so you can connect with people like you!
Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m., it's Easter Sunday at Calvary Austin! With worship by the Calvary Austin worship team and special music by Danny Oertli (www.dannyoertli.com), it's sure to be an inspiring service! I'll be sharing a message about the death and resurrection of Christ. For information, visit www.easterservice.com!

Kick-Off Sunday for Building Momentum - our plan to meet critical space needs as Calvary Austin continues to grow - was a blast! We went from worship right into video filmed on location introducing a virtual tour of our proposed facility at Wells Branch Parkway and Heatherwilde. Afterward I dialogued onstage with two key staff members about some of the details(i.e. a 1,000-seat auditorium, 660 parking spaces, state-of-the art youth and children's space) and the calendar of events for Building Momentum.
But Building Momentum is more than a building project. It's a message series! From the Old Testament story about Nehemiah, we're learning how to be momentum-builders - MBs for short - in every area of our lives: as individuals, as families, and as a church. We learned Sunday that momentum begins with seeing, sensing, and seeking what God wants us to do. Sunday, April 18, we will learn how to go from praying about what is to planning for what could be.
But first we celebrate Easter! I'll update my blog with more about that in a day or two. In the meantime, check out www.easterservice.com!
