What comes to mind when you see the word worship? By worship, we normally mean the songs we sing at church. Songs we sing to God or, in some cases, songs we sing about God. Those songs are worship or, at least, they can be. But worship is not those songs. Sunday we continue our message-series called I.D. - Unleash Your God-given Identity. This week we'll explore our identity as a community of worshipers.

Year before last Canadian pop-punk band Simple Plan hit the top-ten with their song Perfect. I think that song sums up what a lot of kids feel about their family and especially about their dad. Pierre Bouvier sings, "I try not to think/About the pain I feel inside/Did you know you used to be my hero?/All the days you spent with me/Now seem so far away/And it feels like you don't care anymore." Sunday marks week two of the new message-series called I.D. - Unleash Your God-given Identity. Once again we're going to explore our identity as a community of Christ followers and this time we'll be talking about family.

Sunday, April 3 we started a new message-series called I.D. in which we're going to explore our identity as a community of Christ followers. In the first message we talked about the Bible, God's Word. If you're interested in building a very basic library for Bible study, read on. First you need a Bible Dictionary to look up people, places, and things you discover in the Bible. Check out The New Unger's Bible Dictionary. Second you want to get a concordance like Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. Third if you'd like to dig deeper into the original language of the New Testament, I love The Complete Word Study Dictionary of the New Testament by Spiros Zodhiates. Fourth you definitely will enjoy a commentary on the entire Bible. You can't miss with Believer's Bible Commentary by William MacDonald. Look for these and other tools in our bookstore this weekend. To learn more about how to use these tools, listen to Sunday's message here on our website. Next time we'll talk about family.
